Hello from South Africa, friends! As you probably
all know by now, I have safely arrived in Stellenbosch after about 38 hours of
traveling from Maple Hill, Kansas to Stellenbosch, Western Cape, South Africa.
My trip was fine, but a little long and tiring, especially since I tend to not
sleep on moving things. When I arrived in Cape Town, I was greeted by the
friendliest people, staff at the International Office at Stellenbosch
University. All I wanted to do was sleep, but I forced myself to stay awake so
I could start adjusting to the local time - 7 hours ahead of Midwest US - as
quickly as possible. I'm on day 3 and I'm feeling quite alright, so I think the
adjustment is going well and I am defeating jetlag. And I'm sure the warm
70s-80s sunny perfect weather isn't hurting...
